CryoHome FAQ

CryoHome Domestic Ice Bath FAQs

The Spa

Will the spas fit through a standard doorway?

Yes, all models are designed to fit through a standard door. Occasionally a door may need to be removed especially if there are sharp turns required. We can undertake a remote survey via a video conference call or you can send a video of possible pinch points for advice.

Is a permanent water supply required?

No. The spas are not permanently plumbed in. Just fill with a hose and add salt if permitted (some chillers are for freshwater only – see specifications on the website).

How often do I have to change the water?

This will depend on the model you choose, how clean you are when entering the ice bath, ambient temperature etc. All models, except the S3, are equipped with a state of the art skim filtration system (this is the best for skimming off pollutants that float such as body oil). The all wooden S3 has an inline filter and as such will need cleaned more often than our other models.

What sanitisation is used?

We have chillers with UV built-in and one chiller with the option of Ozone. These sanitisers can be combined with a low dose of chlorine or bromine if desired.

How often do I need to change the filters?

All models except the S3 have a skim filter which uses a 50ft2 (5m2) cartridge filter. These filters need to be replaced every 6 to 9 months depending on usage. The S3 inline filter does not require replacement. All filters should be cleaned regularly.

Are the spas insulated?

All spas except the wooden S3 are insulated. In addition, insulation is supplied for the hoses to and from the chiller to minimise condensation and conserve energy.

Is there a risk of electric shock?

No. All CET CryoHome ice baths have no power in the spa. Only the chiller, which is separate to the spa is plugged into the mains power supply.

Inside & Outside Use

Our CryoHome Spas can all be used both inside and outside. However, if stored outdoors, the chiller must be protected from the elements. We recommend adding our handcrafted chiller housing to keep your chiller safe.

Chiller

Do the chillers come included with the ice bath?

Yes, upon purchasing a CryoHome Spa, you will be required to choose between one of three chillers (C1, C2 & C3) to include with your order. The chiller is responsible for keeping your water cold.

Which chiller is the best?

All of our chillers are great, it just depends upon your needs! For instance, if you are planning on adding epsom salts to your water, we advise choosing our C3 chiller. If you want UV sanitisation, choose the C1 or C2 chiller. If you prefer Ozone sanitisation, choose the C3 chiller with Ozone option. Make sure you check out the technical specification of each chiller before purchasing.

Can the chillers also heat the water?

Yes, there is a heating option. Be aware that switching from chilling to heating can activate the defrost mode, which can cause condensation. A drip tray may be required.

What is the temperature range?

The chillers will chill to a minimum of 3°C. With the heater option they will heat to a maximum of 40°C.

How long does it take to chill the water?

This will depend on the volume of water, the ambient temperature and the choice of chiller.

Generally, the chillers will chill between 3°C and 7°C per hour.

Delivery

Will you deliver worldwide?

We currently only supply the CET CryoHome chillers with 230v/50hz power. The list of countries currently supplied will appear on the website order form. Prices quoted include VAT and delivery to the UK and Ireland.

What is the standard delivery time?

The CryoHome S1 and S3 are normally dispatched within 1 to 2 weeks from the time of order when they are in stock. We would complete a final water test before we pack and dispatch. The CryoHome S2 is built to order which should normally take 4 to 6 weeks. If the goods are not in stock at the time of the order, we will advise you of the lead time and you are able to cancel the order within 5 days of notification for a full refund, should the lead time not meet your requirements.

Are the spas supplied fully assembled and ready to go?

Yes. All you have to do is attach the hoses to and from the chiller, which have simple quick release fittings. Add water and salt where appropriate and you are ready to chill!

Refund & Returns

Can I return the equipment?

Yes. You can return the equipment within 14 days for any reason and for up to 30 days if it does not perform as claimed. The cost of returning is at the buyer’s expense. The goods should be packed in the original packaging and properly secured to the pallet as supplied. A full refund will be made less the cost of any damage or repairs, if any are required.

Warranty

Warranty & Repair - All spas except the CryoHome Spa S3

The standard warranty is 2 years for consumers. for personal domestic use. The spa bodies should last a long time – we have units in operation after more than 12 years.

Warranty & Repair - CryoHome Spa S3

As a natural wooden product that will shrink when dry and expand when wet or when in warmer temperatures there may be minor leaks or drips from time to time. Simple instructions for dealing with these are supplied with the baths. It would not be a good idea to chill to 3°C one day and heat to 40°C the next day – that would definitely be too challenging for a natural all wood product.

Warranty & Repair - Chillers

For consumers, the chillers have a 2-year return to base warranty. We will repair or replace at our discretion.
